A Quad DAC with scorching specs
The D30 Pro is the all-new (Spring 2021) desktop DAC from TOPPING. Arriving four years after the release of the D30, the Pro model doubles and even quadruples the performance of its predecessor.
Central to the D30 Pro’s design is the Cirrus Logic Quad DAC, a decoding strategy that offers spectacular dynamic range and noise reduction. With preamp functionality and virtually noiseless SINAD for RCA and XLR, the D30 Pro is the perfect choice for anyone who prioritizes performance above all else.
Quad DAC
The D30 Pro features four CS43198 Cirrus Logic DAC chips for a total of eight fully-balanced channels. Each of the D30 Pro’s channels is arranged in parallel by four conventional balanced channels. The fantastic results of this include SNR of 132dB and DNR of 132dB.
PCM 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256
With its 2nd-gen 8-core XMOS XU208 chip, the D30 Pro supports PCM 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256 native.
THD+N as low as 0.00009%
The D30 Pro has a Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise rating of 0.00009%, meaning that its signal is 99.99991% free of distortion and noise. To make this concept a bit clearer, let’s use an analogy. Imagine that the D30 Pro outputs liquid instead of sound. If you were to pour a soda can’s worth of liquid from it, that liquid would be completely pure except for about 0.029 milliliters, or less than the volume of a single droplet.
Doubles as a preamp
The D30 Pro doubles as a preamplifier, allowing you to control the output volume of destination monitors on its front panel or with the included remote control. Since the D30 Pro’s noise is a dizzyingly low <0.9uVrms@SAE out/ <1.1uVrms@bal out, it’s great for bumping up the volume of powered monitors without introducing hiss.
Selectable output port
The D30 Pro features an output selection button with options for “XLR only,” “RCA only,” and “XLR + RCA.” This last option lets you run cables to two different destinations, such as a headphone amp and powered monitors, and listen to either without having to do the cable shuffle.
RCA & XLR above 120dB SINAD threshold
Both RCA and XLR inputs have a SINAD over 120dB, meaning that any noise occurring naturally from the system is beyond the threshold of human hearing. The result is a pure-signal experience.
